Our change of mind policy

Please note in periods of lockdown, there may be a delay in your online return.*

We want to give you a hassle-free way to get the correct items so you can kick back and enjoy your purchases. At POLITIX, we are happy to offer you an exchange or credit note, or a refund for purchases made in-store or online, on most full price and reduced merchandise. The following change of mind timeframes apply:

Subject to the Consumer Guarantees outlined below, merchandise returned for change of mind within the above timeframes can be returned for an exchange, credit note or refund subject to the following conditions:

  • Proof of purchase is accompanied with the returned merchandise;
  • The merchandise is unworn, unwashed, unused and in its original condition with all tags intact;
  • Items purchased at DAVID JONES are subject to their respective return policies and procedures.

For hygiene reasons, there are no returns or exchanges on the purchase of underwear, swimwear or gift cards unless the goods are of unacceptable quality, not fit for purpose, or incorrectly described.

Consumer Guarantees

We make every effort, from concept to coat hanger, to ensure that every POLITIX garment meets our high standards.

Our Change of Mind Policy does not affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law and you have consumer guarantees that cannot be limited by us. If your product is not of acceptable quality, is not fit for its purpose or is different from its description or sample, then you may be eligible for a refund, exchange or any drop in value of the product (if you choose to keep it).

If you have purchased a product with a major fault, you have the right to ask for your choice of a replacement or refund replacement. If you purchased a product with a minor fault, we can choose to give you a free repair instead of a replacement or refund.

Merchandise returned under consumer guarantees can be returned within a reasonable timeframe subject to proof of purchase. Our customer service team is unable to review any worn or used items via email or phone. All items must be physically returned either via mail or in person in-store to be processed, in accordance with the process detailed below. If you encounter an unusual problem with your product, we’re here to help.

Online Cancellations & Order Amendments

Unfortunately we are unable to cancel or make any amendments to any online orders after your order is placed. Amendments may include but are not limited to:

  • Change of delivery address & details
  • Change to colours and size
  • Adding or removing items
  • Applying discounts
  • Full order cancellations

Please ensure all details provided are full and correct at the time of order placement.

How To Return Your Purchase In Store

In Store Purchases

You can bring your online or in-store item and proof of purchase to any of our Politix standalone stores within 14 days of receiving your items (excluding David Jones). Refer to our change of mind policy for more information.

Afterpay Purchases (In Store)

Purchases made in-store using AFTERPAY can be exchanged or refunded in any POLITIX store (excluding DAVID JONES). Exchanges of items with a different dollar value are required to be returned to our Online Store.

How To Return Your Purchase By Post

Local Online Purchases

For all Australian orders, returning your online purchase by post is FREE of charge. Here is how to prepare your parcel for return:

Simply complete the returns form enclosed with your order within 14 days from the date the order was received and send it back to the below postal address along with the item/s you wish to return.

Ensure your return parcel is securely packaged and both the sender's address and POLITIX online return address are clearly displayed on the outside of the parcel. We recommend sending your return back by registered post as POLITIX will not be liable for any return parcels lost in transit.

Afterpay Purchases (Online)

Purchases made online using AFTERPAY can be exchanged or refunded in any POLITIX store (excluding DAVID JONES) if the dollar amount is the same value as the original purchase.

Exchanges of items with a different dollar value are required to be returned to our Online Store.

Paypal Purchases

If paying via PayPal we are happy to offer you a refund or credit note, or a refund for purchases made online. Please note we cannot offer a refund with purchases made with Paypal when returning to a POLITIX store.

International Purchases

Simply contact us within 30 days to arrange an international return. Download the returns form for International orders here.

Please note that all return postage costs for change of mind, refund and exchanges are at your own expense. If you are returning or exchanging a faulty, damaged or incorrectly described item, POLITIX will refund all associated return packaging and postage costs.

Goods are your responsibility until they reach us, so make sure it's packaged securely and obtain tracking information when posting.

Please Note

  • In-store purchases can only be exchanged, refunded or returned in-store
  • Please allow 10 business days from the day your parcel is delivered to our distribution centre for your return to be processed and your account to be credited. Once your return has been processed you will be notified via the email address provided with your original online order. Slight delays to return processing may be experienced during busy sale and promotional periods, due to higher volumes.
  • If exchanging via post, please return your unwanted item as above, noting the style/size you wish to exchange on the packing slip provided. The item from the original order will first be returned and a new order containing the exchanged item will be processed. We will notify you of your new order number via email once your exchange has been processed.
  • Online purchases that have previously been exchanged in store can only be returned in store and not to the above returns address.
  • We can issue a credit note that is valid for 3 years.
  • If a refund is requested from your online order, it will be processed via the original online payment method, excluding PayPal. Any purchases online using PayPal, will need to be refunded online.
  • For International orders, customers are responsible for all return postage costs, taxes and duties for change of mind returns received in an online order. Please note we don’t offer exchanges for international orders.
  • All international returns must be received by Politix within 30 days of order placement. Any duties and taxes you may have paid in making the original order will not be reimbursed.
